MANU – TRES CRUSES VIEWPOINT

Tres cruses viewpoint

A 3 and a half hour drive from the city of Cusco, and an hour and a half from the town of Paucartambo, in the Andean part of the Manu National Park is the tres cruses viewpoint. This place is one of the few places in the world where, looking towards the eastern slope of the Andes, you can appreciate the spectacular sunrise very early in the morning in different colors and shades formed by the clouds.

From this point, on cloudy days, you can see the Amazon rainforest covered with a white blanket of clouds. Later, from this point, in the mid morning, on clear days, you can see the Amazon rainforest as a green ocean.

In the months of June, July and August many local people and national and foreign tourists visit to appreciate this spectacular view since the rest of the year could be covered with vast fog that comes from the Amazon rainforest pushed by the air current that is generated by the rotation of the earth.
