A tour that begins in Cusco city and ends in Puerto Maldonado, this program is the most complete to experience and enjoy the jungle with more time in each place to explore, such as taking pictures of the cock of the rocks in cloud forest.

Tour Itinerary

DAY 1: CUSCO – BAMBÚ LODGE

We leave Cusco early in the morning in our private car adapted for the route with mountains and jungle, in the course of the trip we will pass many places of tourist attraction such as: Ninamarca Wich is a pre-Inca construction of the Lupaca Kindong culture, then we will be passing through the valley of Paucartambo and a small town of Paucartambo known as the folkloric capital of Peru, then we will arrive at the Ajanaco pass which is the beginning of the Manu National Park.

from this point we will descend to the Amazon rainforest; going through a unique cloud forest in the world. In this area we will make short stops and hikes to see exotic birds of the cloud forest especially the Peruvian national bird the Andean cock of the rocks, toucans, tanagers and mammals such as monkeys, coaties and with good luck  Sloths and a variety of flowers and orchids. arriving at sunset to our Lodge. D.A.C

 

DAY 2: BAMBOO LODGE – PAPAYA LODGE

After breakfast at the lodge we continue our trip in our private car to the fluvial port of Atalaya, from there we start our trip in a motorized boat through the Madre de Dios River to the Natural hot springs and then to the next lodge, the trip will be for 4 to 5 hours by boat, on the way we can see many species of birds such as herons, macaws, toucans, kingfishers, etc. and animals like the capybara, which is the largest rodent in the world and to enjoy the beautiful Amazonian landscape, in the afternoon we will arrive at the lodge.

At the lodge we will have a short break to relax from the long journey in the boat, later we make a little walk along the trails of the shelter looking for insects, birds, mammals, monkeys; then we return for dinner.

 

DAY 3: PAPAYA LODGE – CASA MATSIGUENKA LODGE

On this day we continue our trip along the Madre de Dios River for about two more hours and then along the Manu River. the Manu River is within the Manu National Park and is a very special habitat with very warm water, the beaches and the banks of the river are the perfect place to see great alligators, such as black caiman and white caiman, turtles, butterflies and mammals. with good luck you can see big cats like: the Jaguar, Puma and other small cats, and a great variety of monkeys of different species, some of them eating clay in the bank of the river, birds like herons, seagulls, rayadores, toucans, macaws, eagles, etc. It will be a long trip of approximately 9 hours with a few short stops along the way.

 

DAY 4: CASA MATSIGUENGUA LODGE – COCHA SALVADOR LAKE

This day we do full activity in the morning we explore the lake in a catamaran, here we can see the giant otter (river wolf) in process of extinction, because every day it eats between 3 to 5 kilos of fish each, and there are not  many more lakes in the Amazon jungle with abundant fish, only in national parks such as Manu.

we will also see more caimans, turtles, herons, many species of monkeys in large groups. In the afternoon after lunch we continue to explore this beautiful jungle looking for more species of animals, and the guide will explain the relationship between plant, animal, incect and the function of different ecosystems and the medicinal functions of plants. At night an optional night walk.

 

DAY 5: CASA MATSIGUENKA LODGE – PAQUIZTZA

This day after breakfast we will go to see the Matsiguenka macaw clay lick, this clay lick is very rich in minerals many species of birds visit frequently in the mornings). After lunch in the lodge in the afternoon we will go by boat to the last checkpoint of Pakitza, here in the afternoon we start walking towards the pakitza mammal clay lick with our

daily backpack and our dinner, on the way we can see more species of monkeys, toucans, medicinal plants; arriving to the clay lick in dusk and we stayed there for 3 to 4 hours to see animals at night especially the sachavaca the largest mammal in the Amazon rainforest, then return to the station and sleep in tents, here there is no shelter.

 

DAY 6: PAKITZA – MANU WILDLIFE CENTER

Very early in the morning we left the station and started to return by the same Manu river to Otorongo Lake, here we will climb a 20 meters high tower to see parrots, macaws, eagles, toucans and many birds flying through the treetops and enjoy the panoramic view of the lake, then we will continue our boat trip on the Manu River to Boca Manu and then we will go down the Madre de Dios River down to Manu Wildlife Center.

This day we will also have opportunities to see more alligators, tapirs, sloth, turtles, monkeys, toucans, macaws, herons and other animals. And with good luck, a big cat in the morning like Jaguar, Puma and other small cats.

 

DAY 7: MANU WILDLIFE CENTER LODGE – BLANQUILLO MACAW CLAY LICK

This day we get up early in the morning to see parrots and macaws in the famous Blanquillo macaw clay lick, here we will spend the whole morning observing the parrots and macaws eating clay and sometimes you can see even felines that come to hunt the macaws, then return to the lodge and in the afternoon we start walking towards a mammal lick with our daily backpacks and dinner on the way we can see more species of monkeys, toucans, medicinal plants arriving to the colpa at night and stay there for 3 to 4 hours to see animals at night especially the sachavaca and then return to the shelter to sleep.

 

DAY 8: MANU WILDLIFE CENTER LODGE – CUSCO

This day we return to Cusco by a different route; We will travel downstream to Puerto Colorado, from there we will take a private car that brings us back home making short stops on the way to Cusco, and it is the end of the trip.
