We leave Cusco early in the morning in our private car adapted for the route with mountains and jungle, in the course of the trip we will pass many places of tourist attraction such as: Ninamarca funeral towers which is a pre-Inca construction of the Lupaca Kindong, then we will be passing through the valley of Paucartambo and a small town of paucartambo known as the folkloric capital of Peru, then we will arrive at the Ajanaco pass which is the beginning of the Manu National Park from this point we will descend to the Amazon rainforest; going through a unique cloud forest in the world. In this area we will make short stops and hikes to see exotic birds of the cloud forest especially the Peruvian Naational bird the Andean Cock-of-the-rocks, toucans, tanagers and mammals and monkes like: Grey Wooly Monkeys and Brown Capuchin Monkeys and coaties, with good Sloths bear and a variety of flowers and orchids. arriving at sunset to Our Lodge. After breakfast at the lodge, we continue our trip in our private car to the river port of Atalaya, from there we start our trip in a motorized boat through the Madre de Dios River from 4 to 5 hours by boat during the trip we visit Machuwasi lake, here we do our activity looking for animals such as: the Capybara which is the largest rodent in the world, monkeys, birds that live in Amazonian lakes such as: the prehistoric bird Hoatzin (shansho) , Horned Screamer (camungo), purple gallinule, toucans and many more birds; and you will enjoy driving the topa balsa rafts in the Amazonian style and then we continue our trip by boat and on the way we will be able to see many species more of birds such as herons, macaws, toucans, kingfishers, etc. and other animals and enjoy the beautiful Amazon landscape, in the afternoon we will arrive at the lodge.
In the lodge we will have a short break to rest from the long boat trip, then we will walk along the paths of the refuge in search of insects, birds, mammals and monkeys. at night we will look for nocturnal wildlife such as: spiders, tarantulas, frogs, snakes, caiman, night monkeys and more insects and then we return to dinner and spend the night in the lodge. This day after breakfast we start our trek to a beautiful primary forest with our camping equipment such as: tent, mattress, sleeping bag, mineral water, snacks, lunch and with our travel equipment such as camera, binoculars, telescope and machete.
we go deep into the jungle to explore the real jungle passing streams, small creeks and swamps to really have an experience and learn about what the Amazon jungle is like inside, in the furthest from civilization in a pristine place, and being able to see and enjoy birds such as: macaws, toucans, woodpeckers, eagles,hummingbirds, tanagers, etc. We can also find up to 10 species of monkeys in this area, most of which are very curious and of course you can also find tree frogs, snakes, alligators, etc. and a wide variety of medicinal plants and giant trees. In the afternoon we arrive at the shore of a small river where we will camp and at night take a walk to see dwarf caiman that live in the streams in the middle of the jungle and enjoy the tranquility of the Amazon jungle. this day after our breakfast we return looking for more animals to the lodge for our lunch; Then we get ready to come back along the Madre de Dios River to the Shintuya hot springs, here we will go for a short walk to visit a small waterfall well and be able to cool off. This time we will camp on the banks of the Madre de Dios River near the hot spring, at night we will enjoy bathing in the hot springs and we will have a campfire and prepare a delicious barbicut for dinner.
Very early we leave for a beautiful clay lick with parrots and macaws (this clay is a place rich in minerals, where many species of birds frequently visit in the mornings). After enjoying this scenery we return to the camp for breakfast and then we return to the river port of Atalaya and from here we return in our private car to Cusco, end of the trip.
