Manu Cultural Zone 5D/4N

It is a trip to Manu along the interoceanic highway and takes place in the southern part of the Manu National Park, entering through Puerto Colorado and the activities are: sighting of flora and fauna along the interoceanic highway – boat trip approx. 4 to 5 hours in the Amazon plain forest, where you can see capybaras, turtles and even the majestic jaguar – visit Lake Cocha Blanco to see giant otters, black caiman, piranhas, large monkeys, etc. – entrance to observation tower located in a treetop – Blanquillo macaw clay lick – Mammal clay lick to see the tapir and other nocturnal animals at night – Night walk to see caimans, snakes, tarantulas, frogs, insects – bird watching – botanical garden – hummingbird garden – authentic expedition with typical jungle foods and drinks made from jungle products.

 

 

Tour Itinerary

DAY 1: CUSCO – AMAZON PONA LODGE.

We leave Cusco early in the morning in our private car adapted for the route with mountains and jungle, in the course of the trip we will pass many places of tourist attraction such as: Ninamarca funeral towers which is a pre-Inca construction of the Lupaca Kindong, then we will be passing through the valley of Paucartambo and a small town of paucartambo known as the folkloric capital of Peru, then we will arrive at the Ajanaco pass which is the beginning of the Manu National Park from this point we will descend to the Amazon rainforest; going through a unique cloud forest in the world In this area we will make short stops and hikes to see exotic birds of the cloud forest especially the Peruvian National bird; the Andean Cock-of-the-rocks, toucans, tanagers,quetzal,motmots, etc. and con see monkes like the Grey Wooly Monkeys and Brown Capuchin Monkeys and coaties, with good Sloths bear and a variety of flowers and orchids. arriving at sunset to Our Lodge. DAY 2: AMAZON PONA LODGE – PAPAYA LODGE.

After breakfast at the lodge we continue our trip in our private car to the fluvial port of Atalaya, from there we start our trip in a motorized boat through the Madre de Dios River to the Natural hot springs of shintuya and then to the next lodge, the trip will be for 4 to 5 hours by boat, on the way we can see many species of birds such as herons, macaws, toucans, kingfishers, etc. and animals like the capybara (largest rodent in the world) and to enjoy the beautiful Amazonian landscape, in the afternoon we will arrive at the lodge.

At the lodge we will have a short break to rest from the long boat trip, then we go to a camouflaged house to see animals such as: tapir, porcupine, deer and other nocturnal rodents at night eating clay in the mammal clay lick which is a rich place. in mineral salts with good luck We can see felines like the Jaguar, puma or ocelot that sometimes come to hunt in this place and continue enjoying the sound of the jungle during the night. AY 3: PAPAYA LODGE

This day after breakfast we start our hike to a beautiful primary forest with our daily backpack carrying mineral water, snacks, lunch and our travel equipment such as camera, binoculars, telescope and machete, to explore the jungle to see birds like: Blue and Yellow macaw, Red and Green macaw, Scarlet macaws, toucans, woodpeckers, eagles, antbirds, hummingbirds, tanagers, etc. Here you can see up to 8 species of monkeys like: Brown Capuchin monkey, Dasky Titi monkey, red howler monkey, sadle back tamarin, olso Tree frogs, snakes, and a great variety of medicinal plants and giant trees. The guide explains everything about the functions of the flora and fauna. And in the afternoon we go for a walk looking for more monkeys and birds until it gets dark and then we can look for nocturnal wildlife; Spiders, tarantulas, frogs, snakes, alligators, nocturnal monkeys and more insects and then return to the lodge for dinner. DAY 4: PAPAYA LODGE – SOGA DE ORO LODGE.

After a breakfast in an Amazonian style We started to return by boat along the same Madre de Dios River to the ” Soga de Oro Lodge ” for our lunch lunch. In the afternoon We visit a small Machuwasi lake, here we do our activity looking for more animals like: the Capybara which is the largest rodent in the world, birds that live in Amazonian lakes such as the prehistoric bird Hoatzin (shansho), Horned Screamer (camungo) , toucans and many more birds; and you will enjoy driving the Amazon-style topa rafts, here we will stay until dark to see more caimans , snakes and frogs at night and then return to the lodge for dinner. DAY 5: SOGA DE ORO LODGE – CUSCO.

Very early we left the lodge to a beautiful parrots and macaws clay lick (this clay lick is a place rich in minerals, where many species of birds visit frequently in the mornings to eat mineral). After enjoying this scenary, we return to the lodge for breakfast and then return to the fluvial port of Atalaya and from there we return in our private car to Cusco, end of the trip. B.L.
